Mothering as your spiritual practice
I had a revelation today as I was meeting my true self again. Wow!! What a difference self care makes to my mothering skills!! I began my day with additional rest, (thank you to my husband for allowing me to do this while he took the kids to school), a long enjoyable shower, and then some really healthy food to nourish my body. I felt a renewed spring in my step as I moved into my day of creation.
So, here is my recipe for a patient, loving and connected mom:
1. Exercise daily: a long walk on the beach, around the block or a hike in the hills does my body good.
2. Eat raw food daily: How many carbs do I eat compared to my fresh fruits and vegies? The lighter foods give me more vibrant energy to mother from plus I feel lighter and more grounded. Eat plenty of organic fruits and vegies daily to magnify your highest potential.
3. Meditation: I know this sounds familiar, but we must use the tools in order for them to work within us. 15 minutes three times a day of breathing in and out will do the trick.
4. Sun Worship: 15 minutes a day of some active sun worshipping will tune your vibrations and align your body with your spirit. This is a great mommy practice. The light actually goes into our skin and feeds our skin and gives us Vitamin D which we need in order to be healthy. Too much time indoors makes our energy dim.
5. Water: I know we hear this all the time, but do we stop and drink our fill? We must fill our own cup up in order to support our family in a loving way. Drink 8-10 glasses of alkaline water. Cell Food drops alkalines my water. Most waters ph is on the acidic side, which isn't plumping up our cells enough. So, a few drops of cell food or potassium will do the trick. You can feel the difference.
These are a few steps in deepening my connection to my self and to my kids. I love myself as much as I love my children. I actively practice these daily. I put this first in my day as well because we know how fast the time goes when the kids wake and everything it takes to get them off to school in the mornings. It becomes an easy excuse on how I can't take time for me. I am too busy becomes an excuse that my children begin to model. Is this how I want them to be as adults in this world?
Absolutely not!! I see my children as light workers who love themselves first and then share their gifts and talents with the world from that place each day of their lives. They are happy, whole and bound out of bed to beam their light on this planet. They become positive role models for others. I see them doing this with grace and ease. And I activate this possibility by being their mentor in this by practicing self love and care each day.
By doing this I am being my true self and this feels so good!! I invite you to play in this way each day as well. See for yourself if this works for you. I would love your feedback.
Peace and Blessings,
Christina
